Callen celebrated his first Thanksgiving in Newalla, OK with my parents and grandma...and of course Jason and I. It was a wonderful day, even though C didn't get to enjoy the food (neither did I...since I am still watching food for flavor/spice).
Callen and I also spent Thanksgiving week at my parent's house...it was a needed getaway for both of us and a wonderful time to spend an entire week with my parents. It is so sweet to see how they love on Callen so much. Wish they lived closer so they could love on him all the time. He is crazy about my parents...I love to see him smile and calm down when he is in my mom's arms. Makes things so much better. While in OKC for the week we got a lot of shopping and visiting in. C went on his first shopping trips and did great. He even did Black Friday...he was awesome all day. So proud of him. He also met his great grandma and Mrs. Beebe (who is like a grandma to me).
Callen also got his picture taken with Santa while in OKC. He loved SANTA. He just nuzzled under Santa's beard and watching his suit. It was a sweet moment...so glad he didn't throw a fit!
While at my parent's house Callen found a new love...bouncing. Mom would bounce him in the recliner and it would immediatly make him happy or stop fussing. I tried it in our recliner when we got home...doesn't work. However, he loves his bouncer now...so that is our new lifesaver!
He of course is 100% spoiled by the grandparents.
C has also started a very ANNOYING habit. He has always been a fan of making noises (grunting/snorting noises)...which is cute and funny during the day. Well...last week he started these noises in the middle of the night. I always know what time it is when he starts...4 a.m. every morning. That is right at 4 each morning he begins his grunting (dead asleep)...and he doesn't stop until he wakes up at around 8. So that is 4 hours of grunting...which of course means no peaceful sleep for me (Jason sleeps right through it). I really don't think C can get a good nights rest either...but, it doesn't seem to bother him. I believe it is him trying to wake himself up.
He has also become a fan of his fingers...he tries so hard to get those fingers and thumbs in his mouth. Most parents hate this and fight the child...Jason and I grab his hand and force it in his mouth. Hey, if it makes him happy and not to cry we are all for it. He won't take a pacifier...so fingers work! He is also become able to see things...he follows things and tries to grab at stuff. He just sits and watches things...great to see him getting the hang of it (even if his eyes cross).
I haven't had a chance to upload any pictures. Will do tomorrow of our trip in OKC!
Happy Holidays!
