Spring is in the Air....

I think spring is finally here! Callen has been able to get out during the day and evening and enjoy the fresh air. He loves being outside...especially when he has his sunglasses and hat on (he thinks he is pretty cute). C loves to go for walks in the evenings with the dog (Bear) and "working" outside with Dad (Jason). The nice weather just gets me excited for summer and introducing Callen to the swimming pool and lake! Callen is changing so much! He doesn't have his "double" chins anymore...you can see his next now! He is also becoming independent...he loves sitting up and playing with his toys. He has the sitting up thing down. He will sit up and play for a really long time. Makes it hard to believe that just a few short months ago we couldn't even leave the room without him crying...now he enjoys playing on the floor by himself. He has figured out how to make several of his toys work...it is so neat watching him figure everything out. Uncle Coleman got C one of those toys that pops the balls out etc...he has always loved it, but over the past 2 weeks he has figured out how it works. He just sits and twists the ear of the elephant and the balls start coming out...and this week he has figured out how to put the balls back in the elephants mouth when they fall to the ground. He is so smart! :) This weekend we are going to my parent's house and leaving Callen for the night with them. It is Jason and I's third anniversary and Jason thinks we should go and do something. I am very nervous about leaving Callen. I feel like I am not living up to my responsibility as a parent. I know he will be in wonderful hands, just kinda nervous about leaving him overnight! So, this weekend will be his first sleepover with the grandparents. My parents are thrilled and couldn't be more excited. I am looking forward to a full nights sleep, however. I know once I get to wherever we are going (it is a suprise) that I will have fun...I just can't get it past my little mind that I am leaving my baby at only 6 months. I know it is for like 10 hours...but, still, I feel like a horrible mom. Anyways, while we are in OKC we are getting Callen's pictures taken with the Easter bunny. I am very excited to see how Callen reacts to the Easter bunny. I am also hoping to get his 6 month pictures taken while there. My mom is coming out next week to help take care of Callen. State testing begins for school next week, so my life will be occupied with that and Jason leaves for three days to go to Austin for work. I told my mom that I needed backup for this coming week. So glad she is coming! Callen is still staying with his other grandma during the day while I am at work. So glad Callen has a loving home to go to while I am away. He loves his grandma and I am so glad she is willing to keep him! Just 31 days of school left and I get to spend all summer with my baby....I am so excited!
