Yikes...it has been ages since I have sat down and caught up on our life. I am slacking on writing down the happenings of Miss Elliot. Hopefully my mind will retain the necessary stuff!
Elliot is growing...finally. We had a few weeks at about week 12 that she was throwing up everything and also had some horrible diapers. It was horrible. We would change clothes about 6 times a day. She did this for about 11 days and then it finally slowed down. She was really starting to lose the weight...but, not she is gaining again. PTL. We are hoping for 14 lbs at her 4 month checkup...if not then it looks like a specialist will be needed. She is in 0-3 month clothes. Some NB pants fit her. She is really long...about 24 inches. She is just going to be tiny.
She is a great sleeper. She sleeps all through the night! It is glorious! She usually goes down around 9:30 or 10 and wakes up around 5 to eat. Then back to sleep till 9ish...if brother doesn't wake her up before then. She doesn't nap a lot during the day. She will cat nap and maybe take a 45 minute snooze...but usually there is too much going on and she just stays up. She is always happy....and loves to smile and laugh and give kisses.
Her hair is somewhat lighting up...we are all wondering if she won't have some red hair. No idea where that would come from. She is getting in the longest eyelashes I have ever seen...but they are super light...so hard to see.
Like I said before she is in 0-3 month clothes and NB size shoe. However, shoes really do not fit her because her foot is so narrow they just fall right off. So the poor thing never wears shoes. She is in size 1 diaper and usually goes through 148 diapers in two weeks. She nurses during the day about every 2 or so hours...she is pretty much an on demand feeding ratio.
We took her to Amarillo for a dermatology appointment for the hemangioma on her arm. He suggested that we put her on a Betablocker to make the "spot" go away. The hemangioma looks like a bright red birthmark...it is just blood vessels that have broken up. They go away in preteen years. After talking to several people in the medical world, prayer and discussion we decided this was not the best path for Elliot and that we would just watch it. If it continues to grow and get as big as this derm was thinking then we will go from there...but for now, we are just going to watch it. Especially with her reflux issue...why add unnecessary fuel to the fire.
Elliot is a great car rider...unless it is night time. We can make the 4 hour trip to my parents with just one stop. Which is great! The 4 hour trip with baby Callen usually took 6 hours. So praise the lord that she rides well. If we happen to have to drive at night, we turn the back dome light on and she is just fine.
She also got to go to Stillwater for the first time at 3 months. Our friends, The Blossers, invited us to come watch Tanner, their son, perform in a show. She had a great time watching them sing and dance. She was excellent during the 3 hour performance. She also attended her first basketball game. At first she hated the noise...but soon grew use to it and did great. She will get her fill of basketball this week. Jason made it to STATE again this year and we are so very proud of him.
Elliot is doing great and just a beautiful little blessing. I will try to update more...hard to do with two babes to care for!
Callen is doing great. He loves baby sister and loves singing to her and holding her hand. He is getting so tall and it kinda makes me sad to see him growing up so quickly. He still loves Thomas the Train. He is really into the battery trains right now and it is fun to see his imagination come out. He has stories galore, and he makes up stories to go along with whatever he is doing.
He loves books and we spend a lot of time reading. He also love paint and glitter. The house is always covered in glitter. He also loves to sing, sing, sing. He has wonderful voice and it is fun to hear him sing.
He gets to go to Sesame Street Live this weekend...and he is looking forward to seeing Cookie Monster.
Well...baby is crying. More later. Sorry for the jumbled mess of a post!
