Where has this week gone? It has seemed to just fly by. Callen has been a busy boy the past few weeks. His personality is coming out more and more and it is so fun to watch him explore and figure things out.
He is continually changing with things that he likes to play with or things that he finds interesting. For a while we could not keep him out of the cabinets. He was continually opening them and digging stuff out of them. He is past that stage and shows no interest in what is in the cabinets. We also had a fascination with the DVD shelf. He would pull the DVD's off the shelf several times a day. That has passed as well. Now, we are onto other things. Anything that is shaped like a ball and anything he can put a "ball" in he tries. He has broken several toys by putting too heavy of balls in them and breaking pieces. He loves balls and will play with them forever. He is also a big fan of books or "boo-ooks" in Callen's world. He brings about 10 books at a time for us to read and we do this about 6 times a day. He curls up on my lap and we read or look at the pictures and make sounds for several hours out of the day. He is still fascinated with T.V. and has several shows he still likes to watch or listen to as he plays. His new favorite is Sesame Street. He really enjoys that show. He is also an eater...he loves food. His new favorite food is cheese, broccoli with cheese and sausage. He is still a candy eater, can't blame him, he still loves his suckers; however, his new favorite since Halloween is Skittles. He will suck all the flavor and wait until the candy is like a disc and then spit it out. He also loves his bath time. He plays for a good 30 minutes to an hour every day. He is just so much fun!
On Wednesday I had a testing meeting in Woodward for my job at the school. Wednesday was the first time since MAY that I had left Callen for an extended period of time (all day). I was extremely nervous because I did not know how he would react to me not being with him at all. And, I was just kinda sad. It was like going back to work all over again. I kept telling myself that it was only for a day and that tomorrow I would be back at home with my sweet boy. Callen spent some time with Jason and then he spent the rest of the morning and afternoon with Papa and Nan (his great grandparents). He did great and he had a wonderful time with them! So glad he is getting to spend time with such special people.
I am just so thankful that I can stay at home with my boy and enjoy our days together. I am truly blessed!
