Californiacation

Next week Jason and I are packing our bags and heading to the west coast.  Jason is in a wedding of a good friends and that is the reasoning for our trip.  We leave Thursday and get back Tuesday.  We are spending a few days (spread out) in San Francisco and the bulk of the trip in San Jose.  I have never been to this part of the country, so I am pretty excited about seeing the sites.

We are spending two days in San Fran and then three days in San Jose.  While there is a list of about 100 things I want to see and do (Jason has no input as of yet), I must narrow it down drastically.  We fly in Thursday morning and are heading to Alcatraz that afternoon and then stopping at either the Pier or China Town before heading to San Jose for the weekend/wedding festivities.  While in San Jose the wedding party and guests are going zip lining (minus me since I will be 6 months prego and all) and having a dinner or the beach.  We are also touring the winchester house while in San Jose.  It looks pretty cool and I am pretty excited about seeing it.

The wedding is Sunday evening and then we will head back to San Fran for Monday and early Tuesday morning before we fly home Tuesday morning.  This is where I must narrow down my list of places to see and what to eat.  Sadly, my food list is pretty much as long as my to see list.  I am a foodie and I seriously love to travel just to try the different foods and restaurants.  While I have taken seafood off the list, simply due to research, I must eat Chinese, some Italian, sourdough bread and a few other places.  Yes, I realize this is a long list of food for the amount of time we will be there...however, it is gonna happen!

While there is going to be a lot of walking and a lot of swelling of the feet and rest of the body, I am looking forward to the little getaway and seeing an area I have never seen before.  And Jason and I have never taken a vacation with just us, other than our honeymoon.  So, it will be neat to explore a new city with him.
