Callen is THREE (almost)

Where has time gone?  It is so hard for me to believe that Callen is going to be three in just a week and a half.  It seems like yesterday I was staying up all night with a little baby that had colic.  Now, I have a little boy that sleeps all night in his own bed.  Time is flying by.

I love this stage Callen is in right now.  He is so much fun and is so funny.  I am always amazed at the things he comes up with and says and how he is able to start figuring out this world.  He has such an imagination and I love listening to him make voices and come up with stories for his toys.  I seriously fall in love with him more and more each day.

He still loves Thomas the Train and spends a lot of time playing with them and coming up with stories about them.  He does have a new love, Peppa Pig.  It is a TV show about a British pig family...I have no idea why he loves Peppa so much, but he does.  He also loves to run, play hide and seek, color, paint, read books, play with marbles and he loves to play board games (Guess Who and Hungry Hungry Hippos are his two favorites).  He also loves to watch movies and has started to want to lay on the floor and watch his movies.  He also has a girly side...he loves to bake, have tea parties and clean.  It is neat to his imagination while having a tea party.

He loves animals.  He has started being really nice to the cats, and they appreciate it.  He loves my parents dog (Pup Pup) and always loves for him to chase him.  He enjoys feeding the cows with Jason and he loves going to the zoo.  His favorite animal is the giraffe.  He has a stuffed giraffe (Ralph) that sleeps with him and he makes voices for Ralph and throws him in the air.  He loves seeing the giraffes at the zoo and he can even feed them!

He loves food and is not a picky eater.  He loves eggs, cereal, pizza with ranch, fruit, candy, making cakes (even though he doesn't like to eat them)....the cake must have sprinkles on it.  He also loves chicken, french fries, hamburgers, ice cream and sprinkled donuts.  He is a good eater and we are truly blessed in this area!

Callen loves to sing and put on shows.  Just recently he started playing with toy music shakers and he will sing and put on shows for us.  He loves his songs...he sings the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse song, Peppa Pig, Thomas songs and really just about anything. It is so beautiful to watch him sing at church.  He has a beautiful little voice.  He also dances while singing...it is pretty funny watching him dance.  He loves to move!

Callen loves to read and look at books.  We usually go read about 20 books a day and he will gladly "read" along with you.  He loves to learn and I am so glad he is patient and willing to sit and learn!  He can count without an issue to 25 and then he can go to 30 (with some mumbles).  He knows his ABC's and can pick out each letter when he sees them.  He knows his colors, shapes, animals, and numbers when he sees them too.  We do worksheets daily and even though I try not to push to hard, I really try for him to learn!

He loves to build and play with playdough.  He has legos that he likes to build towers with and he loves to make things with his playdough.  He has quite the imagination.

He loves playing on the computer and can work electronics better than me (not saying a whole lot).  He loves playing games on disneyjr.com and other sites.  He doesn't get to spend too much time on the computer, but every once in a while he can play.

He enjoys outside and running around.  He has riding his Thomas the Train tricycle down and I am so proud of him.  He also loves to mow the grass with his lawn mower, play in the sand, jump on the trampoline and slide and swing.  He also loves to race and play green light/red light.

He loves people and gets excited to see everyone.  His friends are Halle, Teak, Scout and Morgan and he loves playing with them.  He, however, loves teenagers and gets so excited to see them.  Madison, Chandler, Grady, Cody, Elese, Adam, and Owen are his favorites.  He also loves his adults! Grandparents, great grandparents, Lala and Eddy Blosser, Josie and Tanner, Corey and Kathy, Chris and Amy, and John are his favorites.

He loves to tell stories...and most the time you can't figure out what he is talking about because he gets so into them...but it is so funny to see him talk and make up motions.

He is growing like crazy.  He is just tall and skinny.  He is 39 inches tall and about 30 lbs.  He is healthy and that is all that matters.  He is hard to fit in clothes though because of his little waist and long legs.  He wears 2T waist wise but for length he needs 3T, so we have to make sure his pants have elastic or can be adjusted.  He has huge feet, size 10....seems like he is always outgrowing his shoes.

He still takes a nap during the day.  He fights it some days, and then sometimes he goes right to sleep.  I have thought about letting him give up his naps...but, he takes about a three hour nap every time he naps....so I think he still needs it.  And when baby sister gets here, I think mom will need it too!

Speaking of baby sister....Callen talks about her some.  He says his baby sister kicked him or he felt her move.  We don't bring it up that much...we mainly let him bring it up.  I know the transition will be difficult for him.  I pray we can all make it and Callen will still feel special and loved.

I have loved this stage of Callen's life.  He is getting to be pretty independent, somewhat temperamental, and a huge mess...however, he is one the sweetest, most loving kids around.  He loves to give hugs and kisses and says I love you, I missed you, you are so sweet, please and thank you.  He really is such a joy and blessing.  I love him so much and I can't wait to see what Callen the THREE year old brings to our life!

LOVE you so much Callen!  If I were to call him a sweet name, he would say, I not (fill in the blank), I Callen.  So I will stick with Callen!
