Hard to believe that summer is coming to a close. Kids will be going back to school soon and the pools will be closing. This summer has gone by so fast. We have had a great summer and I am sad to see it winding down. We still have a lot left to do before summer is over!
We have spent a lot of time swimming this year. Callen got to take his first trip to White Water Bay in OKC and he had a great time. He rode every water ride they had. He is one brave 3 year old! He takes after Jason on the no fear thing! Callen had so much fun riding all the rides. And it was so much fun seeing him come out of the slide smiling and laughing. It was a great day of fun in the sun....Elliot loved every moment of the day too. She is a water baby and a go with the flow type of girl.
Callen loves swimming underwater (literally swimming underwater) and picking rings or fish or whatever off the bottom of the pool. He is such a little fish. So glad he is not afraid of the water. He loves going to the public pool and riding the slides. He could spend all day going down the (big) slides. He makes my heart swell just watching him.
We spent the 4th of July at my parent's house. It was a fun weekend. Along with White Water, we popped a lot of fireworks, went the Children's Museum in Seminole, OK and had a great family weekend. Callen had a great weekend and it was all about Callen, which hasn't happened since Elliot was born. It was a great weekend. Loved every moment of it!
We got to go to the lake for the first time this summer last weekend. It was a great time with two sets of wonderful friends. Callen loved to tube, but the water was a little cold for him to enjoy swimming. We didn't get Elliot out in the water because it was cold (it was in the 60s the week before). Elliot was not a fan of her lifejacket, so it was rough start. But, she soon got use to the annoying jacket and was just fine.
We have spent a lot of time this summer with friends and Callen has had a blast playing. We will be sad when all his friends go to school. However, I am relishing these next two years of him not being in school.
We went to the Garden City Zoo on Monday with friends and had a great time...minus the heat! But, have to take advantage of every moment.
Moving onto other happenings. Elliot is doing great! She is growing (17.02 lbs) and changing every day! She is such a joy and a mess. She is scooting everywhere and into everything. She has two teeth!! Bottom two came in over the July 4th weekend. She is in 6/9 month clothes. And usually happy unless she is super tired or hungry. She is one of the happiest babies.
However, the past few weeks she has become a momma's girl. She doesn't want to go to anyone...but me. Which is fine. But, for a baby that loves people and use to go to anyone it is kinda hard to get use to. She loves Jason and will happily go to him whenever. And she is fine if I leave, but if she notices me or sees me then it is over.
She will not sit still. She has never been a baby that was fine with just sitting. She doesn't like to be rocked or read to or just sit and cuddle. Has to be moving. She is reaching and grabbing for any and everything. And she can get to where she wants by reaching or scooting.
Callen and her still have the sweetest relationship and he can be all over her and she just goes with it. Anyone else she screams...she loves Callen.
I still have not tried any milk (for me), too scared. The doctor said give it till close to a year and see how she does. Praying that her lactose issue is something she grows out of. She loves food, other than fruit. Her favorite foods are green beans, squash, peas, veggie chicken, turkey and veggies and homemade apples. However, her favorite is avocado. I just mass it up and she can eat the entire bowl if I let her. A few foods mess her stomach up...carrots, pears, peaches, sweet potatoes and plums did not settle well the week we tried them.
She loves the water and being outside. She also loves animals. She just talks and talks to any animal that she sees.
She still has reflux issues....but, can usually go about two weeks without any medicine. She has allergy problems, so she has to have breathing treatments often. She also has some prescription strength medicine that helps. I am sure she will have to do allergy shots like Callen does when she is older. They have helped Callen greatly and he does great with them.
We are doing wonderful and the kids are happy and growing. Love them more and more each day.
Our family also has BIG, EXCITING news (for us).......WE ARE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!! I am so excited. It has always been a dream of mine to take my kids to Disney World. And now that dream is a reality. Callen and I are so excited. Jason, will get there! I know it is crazy to take a toddler and a baby to Disney...but, it will be fun! I wanted to take Callen when he was young enough to have everything still be so magical. And, well...Elliot is free. So might as well! We are going the week before Christmas. Love Disney at Christmas! We are excited!
