Callen's life has been filled with Lady Bison basketball the past three weekends. He loves the girls and he likes to watch the games. We went to Regionals at OPSU (Goodwell, OK) and cheered on the Lady Bison or C's girlfriends. They won and advanced to Areas in Woodward, OK the next weekend. So, we were off again to cheer on the Lady Bison. The girls got runner-up at Area and advanced to STATE (first time in school history)....so we were off to spend 5 days in OKC to cheer on the girls and to spend some quality time with my parents. The girls played at 8:30 Thursday night (a very late night for Mr. Callen) and we left the same day around 2:30. Luckily, Callen slept the entire time driving to OKC. So, he at least got a 4 hour nap. Callen was decked out for his Lady Bison. He had a shirt on that said "All my girls are Lady Bison" and a sports headband. He looked very cute (if I do say so myself). He did great through the entire game. The Lady Bison won and they were set to play Friday at 4:30 (at least a better time). Callen was pumped and ready to go. This time his shirt said "Life is good if you are a Lady Bison fan." Callen slept through a lot of this game. The Lady Bison lost against Corn Bible, but they made it. The community is very proud of our Lady Bison! Anyways, after the game my parents and Jason and I went to eat at Trappers. Callen was beyond exhausted and he cried throughout the meal. Felt horrible for him.
Callen was exhausted from the weekend of basketball and being taken from place to place, so this week has been devoted to getting him to sleep....which is a story within itself. While C was sick he got use to sleeping bed with me. Yes, I know, horrible thing to start. So, he is now use to sleeping next to someone...meaning...he won't sleep in his bed now. Grr. I know it is my fault...but, I am so tired and I have to work the next day I just don't fight it. So, Callen has been sleeping in bed with Jason and I (oh, and the four cats). Callen finally did sleep better last night...so maybe we are on to something. I will break him from this horrible habit of sleeping with me while I am on spring break. I promise.
Callen picked out his first toys this weekend while we were in OKC. We went to Toys R Us, simply to look, and came out with a bag full of toys. C really did pick out three toys. He got a Grover (Sesame Street) animal, a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Micky, and a baby doll (haha). I knew C loved baby dolls...Elese (daughter of a really good friend of mine) has an American Girl doll and every Sunday Callen just talks and talks to the doll. So, this weekend I bought Callen his very own baby. He loves it. He plays with her toes and just talks and talks to her. He won't go out in public with her, don't worry. I got Grover down from the shelf and C just latched on to him. He now goes everywhere with us. Callen LOVES Mickey Mouse Clubhouse...we have DVD's and DVR'ed shows of Clubhouse. Mom showed him the Mickey and he just went crazy. So we have three new toys that must go wherever we go.
For spring break we are going to my mom and dad's house for a week and half visit. I am very excited. We are getting Callen's Easter pictures taken and if the weather stays nice we are going to the zoo, so he can pet the animals. C loves animals...he is always talking and petting our cats and talking to the cows when he feeds with Jason. We are also getting his 4 month shots while we are in OKC. We are going to my doctor back home. Our week won't be too busy...I don't want another cranky baby!
Pictures to come later. Enjoy the rest of the week!
