8 months

I can't believe Callen is 8 months old! He is growing and changing every single day. Blows me away at how much he is learning and picking up on things. He is crawling everywhere...getting into everything! He is also waving, dancing, and says ma-ma. He has taken a few steps by himself and is pulling up and holding on and walking on everything. He also has two front teeth! Lots have happened in a few short weeks!

Once I wrapped up VBS, Callen and I headed to spend a week at my parent's house. It was a nice little vacation for both of us. While there, Callen found a new love....BARNEY. Yes, the purple dinosaur. He picked out the Barney video all by himself at Target and would not let go of it. Barney has stuck and we have watched countless hours of Barney and Friends. He loves the music and just dances and dances to it.

As we continued our minivaction we also spent a lot of time outside enjoying the warm weather. Callen loves being outside and we spent and still spend several hours morning and night outside. He likes playing with the dog and walking around outside. We also spent a lot of time in the water...Callen loves water. We swam in grandma's kiddy pool and then we went to the lake (which was interesting, he hates his life jacket). He is a waterbug and has no fear.

Once we got home from our OKC vacation, it was harvest time in Balko. Jason took Callen on the combine. He enjoyed for a few minutes....he liked watching the wheat get cut and then fall into the bin. But, he had to sit still...so it didn't last too long. Next year he will enjoy it more. He just wants to GO right now.

Callen also made sure that Jason's first Father's Day was extra special. Callen got "Daddy" a jungle book Father's Day card and he got him Jones Soda personalized bottles. It has "Daddy" and Callen's picture on it and a little note from Callen. Jason loved it.

Callen is also EATING BABY FOOD! YAY! He is eating bananas, pears, carrots, and banana puffs. He is eating all four things without getting sick or having a sick stomach! Callen is growing up! I am also able to eat whatever I want now! WOOHOO! I can have spice again!

Like I said earlier....Callen is into EVERYTHING! He has found the cats' food and tried eating it. He has also learned how to climb on the bathtub...by himself and try to turn the water on. Yea...scared me to death. He is also bothering the cats. He has a favorite...Penny. Penny follows C all around the house and the two of them get into everything. C grabs her fur and whiskers and just screams at her. He even has a call for her. I guess that is Callen's first friend!

Probably the funniest thing Callen is doing is dancing...he gets on his hands and knees and just rocks back and forth when he hears music and then sits up and claps and moves his hands! He also likes head butting things...the walls, bed, etc.

We have also visited the public pool this summer. It took Callen a little getting use to...but, he really enjoyed it and he really liked watching the big kids play.

Callen is sleeping better at night...not in his bed though. It is too confined for him...he rolls all night. He sleeps majority of the night on blankets and such on our bedroom floor...it is the size of a king size bed so he rolls and rolls. Then at some point he ends up in our bed. He is starting to sleep in a little too...waking up around 7 or so! He will get the hang of it!

On another note. Jason and I have decided that I am going to stay home this year. So, I have resigned from teaching. It was a horribly hard decision....however, it is what is best for Callen.

For the most part this is the happenings of Callen (for the moment). He changes every single day...so I am sure I left something out!
