Life on the MOVE

Sorry for my lack of posts over the past few weeks. Things have been crazy around our house for a few weeks. Callen and I got the pleasure of spending all last week with my parents and Callen has been moving none stop, so between the two there hasn't been much time for blogging!

Like I said, we spend last week in OKC with the grandparents. Callen enjoyed the week, and was spoiled rotten. He got to play outside for hours and swim, swim, swim. He loved going with Grandpa to feed the sheep and cats and he loved loving on the sheep dog, Magoo. He loved crawling all over the porch and driveway and walking with his walker everywhere. While there, he got a little red and yellow car and he would just go all over the place in that car. He would make his car noise while riding in it. My parents have a two story house and Callen would be very sneaky in trying to climb the stairs. He can climb them by himself and he felt the need to climb them all the time. He would vanish and before you would know it he would be half way up. He also loved to swim in grandma and grandpa's pool...he would just kick and splash his legs. He will even put his face completely underwater. NO FEAR! We didn't go a whole lot while at the grandparents. We did go to the new outlet mall, not that impressed. Most stores are just the normal mall stores, others are nice to have in OKC. I picked up a few presents for Callen's first birthday (yes, first birthday) and few shirts for him. Other than that my Outlet Mall experience wasn't much. Callen also got to experience his first Sara Sara Cupcake trip. I love Sara Sara Cupcakes, and now that C is up to eating anything I had to get him to experience it with me. He enjoyed a yummy strawberry cupcake (mostly the icing) and he loved it! I have pictures of our trip that I will post later.

Oh, he also got his first hair cut while in OKC...he got it all trimmed up and looks like a little boy now. He did great while Ms. J.J. was cutting his hair. He just flirted with the other girls in the hair place.

We went Saturday to Ft. Supply Lake with "Uncle" Corey and "Aunt" Kathy and the boys and the Dearmin family. We had a great time and Callen did great at the lake...he rode with Chris D. on the boat and both kinda dozed off. He loved swimming in the lake...he would just crawl right out into the water (scared me to death) and he would jump the waves. He had a wonderful time. We all did.

Speaking of his first birthday. I have started planning for the BIG DAY. It is looking like a Backyardigans birthday theme on October 15th. I wanted a Mickey Mouse party since that was his first love and he still likes it...however, we gave him three pictures to pick from (Mickey, Backyardigans and Handy Manny) and he continually picked Backyardigans. Yes, I gave my 10 month old choices. I always do. Sad, maybe, but he picked it. So we will be having a "Backyard" adventure to celebrate his big day. I love planning parties...so I am very excited to get started on this one.

Callen is on the go all the time. He is walking with his walker all over the place and he is taking a few steps...he just can't get the confidence up all the way to do it. He currently says, mom-ma, baa-byy, hi-ii and kitty (which is eeee-eee). He is also waving, pointing to the cats or dog when you ask where they are, and he points to where he wants to go. He is also eating just about everything, except spicy and big time milk products like ice cream and such. He loves mashed potatoes, fresh fruit, veggies of any kind, mac and cheese, and grilled cheese. He no longer will take a bottle and drinks from a cup. He is growing up way too fast. He is in 12 month clothes and pants he is in 18 months, but they are too big in the waist, but the 12 mo. is too short in the leg.

We are looking forward to cooler weather so we can play outside more. This weekend we are heading to Stillwater for some Cowboy football and tailgating. He will get to see Uncle Coleman and others while there. We are excited to take him to Stillwater and let him experience game day and visit the place that is so dear to Jason and I's hearts. We will also spend the remaining weekend at my parent's house. We are going to the lake and spending one last weekend in the pool. We have a busy Labor Day weekend, full of fun, friends and family. Doesn't get much better than that!
