Baby It's Cold Outside?!?

Today it is a chilly 49 degrees in Balko, Oklahoma as I write this little blog. Who would have thought 3 weeks ago it would be this "cold"? I for one am freezing; however, I am not going to complain or shut my windows due to the fact of the freaking heat this summer. Instead, Callen and I will enjoy the drizzly weather with several layers of clothes on and blankets. Okay, I will. My warm blooded child is not minding the coolness of the house. This weather has reminded me that C Man has no winter clothes. Luckily, I had a few long sleeve shirts and pants in reserve from last year, so we at least have a few warm clothes. In other words, it is time for this mom to go shopping!

Like I have said many times, Callen loves being outside. After his two hour nap this morning (by himself in bed (silent applause)), he was ready to go O-U-T. I tried telling him it was way to COLD to go outside; however, my 11 month old just wasn't listening. So, we bundled up and headed out to ride in his car. After drying the car off and driving to the mailbox I looked at my sweet little boy and he was just clinched fist and a red nose, somewhat bluish lips and red cheeks...thus we went inside without a fight and took a nice warm bath. I have finally found a temp Callen does not enjoy! So, we have been playing with our inside toys and snacking (best thing to do in cold temps) today.

Speaking of food. Callen has found a new favorite. Chicken Pot Pie. I bought some yesterday from Schwans and he just ate it up. He is just eating any and everything! Crazy how we have taken a complete circle when it comes to Callen's eating.

I have been busy working on Callen's birthday party. I hope it will be a great day for Callen and a great time for everyone to celebrate Callen's BIG DAY. Now I just have to find the perfect gift(s).

Callen is still unsure of the whole walking thing. He will take several steps solo, but then he freaks when he finally realizes what he is doing. He will get there. We currently have 6 teeth and are saying all kinds of words. He is saying bye-bye-bye (no not the NSYNC song) and he said Da-Da last night even though Jason said he didn't. This momma knows he said it. He is still not sleeping through the night (depends on the night how often out sweet little boy wakes up). And he still doesn't sleep in his bed all night. Which is my fault, I could break this habit if I really wanted to. :) Callen is growing and is healthy, that is all that matters.

Callen is getting fussy, must be nap time....or the weather.
