Our family had an extremely busy/fun weekend and we are just now starting to recover. Friday, Callen and I headed to Liberal, KS for a quick shopping trip (Momma was needing a few clothes for summer, since no new clothes since way before Callen was born) and to pick up a few things at Wal-Mart. After our quick trip, we had a family get together at Jason's aunt and uncle's house. It was a wonderful evening full of family, love, fellowship and food! Callen had a great time playing with his cousin Kendall outside, they played hide and go seek for over an hour.
Saturday, we headed to Garden City, KS to try their zoo. It is about a 2 hour drive, but well worth the trip. It is a neat (and free) zoo with lots to see and do. I was a little nervous since it was free and all...but, it was pretty good zoo. Callen's favorite, of course, were the birds...however, he really enjoyed feeding the giraffe's and got a big kick out of them. He was also introduced to Long John Silver's (Jason's favorite fast food place) and much to my dismay, Callen loved every single piece of fish and hush puppy. Jason was one happy Daddy to finally have a LJS buddy.
Once back from the zoo our lifegroup at church had a night out together. We went to a families home and had wonderful homemade pizza and bread sticks and played games. It was a wonderful time together.
Sunday was Mother's Day and we had a great time together. We went to some friend's home for lunch and had a great time visiting with them.
Our family had an insanely busy weekend and we are trying to catch our breath and play catch-up now. Callen got a swing set and pull, so Jason is working on getting Callen's outside things up and ready for summer! We are also working on Callen's bedroom and changing it into a big kids room. Toy Story is the theme and it is going to look pretty cool once finished!
