For the past 3 weeks our little family has been without the common day technology that so many are addicted to. By that, I a mean a computer. Our faithful MacBook from 2006 crashed and our family has gone without for a few weeks. I can honestly say that not having a computer was somewhat nice. Granted, I missed reading some blogs and checking emails and the like, but it was kinda nice not having it around. If it isn't around you can't use it. Jason really did not think that I could handle not having a computer, but I did! Win for me! Callen missed his starfall.com website and was very excited to see the shiny new MacBook up and running. Now, we are waiting to get all of our pictures and such off of our old computer. I am crossing my fingers we are able to get everything off of it...there are about 5,000 pictures that I would really like to have back and other things to, of course! So praying that we can get it all off without a problem!
A lot has happened in the past month in our household and I hope I don't leave anything out! Callen is sleeping on his own...in his own room and bed. This is a pretty big milestone for all of us. Callen has not slept by himself since he was about 4 months old. So, for him to sleep all night in his room (which he had never slept in before) by himself is a big deal. We are very proud of him and ME for him sleeping in his bed (without someone) all night!
He loves his room and spends most of his hours playing in his Buzz room. As Jason puts it, it is a little too much Toy Story. He loves it though. He loves to put puzzles together and color or paint in his room by himself and will come running out to show me what he has done. He is getting so big.
On another note...we have started potty training. He is doing a really good job. He usually goes about once a day and gets really excited when he does go! He has even gone without being told or asked...running into the bathroom to sit and go and then his potty sings and he claps and runs to me. Big moments! He gets a present every time he goes and he gets very excited about that! We are so proud of his milestones!
We have gone to the lake twice this summer and Callen loves it! He has so much fun riding in the boat and swimming in the water. This past weekend we went with our good friends and family (Corey/Kathy/Boys) to Foss Lake. We had a great weekend together and a wonderful time playing in the water. Callen got to ride the tube (very slowly) with me and he loved every minute of it! He loved feeding the ducks and fish at the docks and we are excited to go back!
Jason and I are getting ready to head to Falls Creek to spend a week with the youth of Balko...we are praying for a good week and a God filled experience for each one there.
On another note...our dear friends The Blosser's are moving in the upcoming weeks and we are very sad to see them leave. Callen loves Lala, Uncle Eddy, Josie and Tanner and we will miss them like crazy. However, we will be visiting them often, just not the same having them down the road. I hope this move is a great experience and that they are truly blessed.
So, while the last few weeks have been exciting new changes, we have so sad changes coming up too!
Now that I am back in the modern world, hopefully I can get up to date on this little thing!
Pictures to come soon!
