Summer Time Blues

Callen and I have been battling a summer time cold for two weeks now.  We are slowly on the mend.  Callen still has a slight cough and runny nose every here and there and I am dealing with horrible congestion.  Needless to say, it has been a slow two weeks in our house.  Lots of sleeping and being lazy....hopefully we will get a litte more energy this week.

We did make a fast trip to OKC to visit my good friend, Coleman or Uncle Coleman (to Callen).  I had a great day visiting with him and catching up before the school year starts.  And we did take a family weekend getaway to Wichita.  It was a nice weekend and we really enjoyed our family time.

Callen loves Thomas the Train and will play for hours with his trains (and putting the trains on his Jack in the Box).  He has also become pretty OCD with his toys.  They have to be lined up just the way he wants them to be...no one else can line them up.  He also has started liking books again. He will sit still and help me read several books in a row.  We read for about 2 hours a day.  He still loves Toy Story and puzzles.  But, he is really getting into other things...which is a great change of pace for this Momma!  He likes to play and look at tractors and he likes to play with his racetrack.

He is growing so much.  He is pretty much wearing 24 month or 2T clothes and size 6 shoe (which is a hard task to find cute boy shoes).  He also has going to the bathroom down while at home.  We are very proud of him! He is really talking a lot and his vocabulary has expanded to just about anything that you say he can repeat it.  He loves to count and will count to five without help and on his hands!  He also loves letters and letter sounds and sign language.  He has H and R down on sign language.  Smarty  pants!

Will post pictures soon...still have not uploaded any on the new computer.  I am currently working on his birthday party.  We are going with a Toy Story theme...I have yet to set a date or order anything...just looking at ideas.  I am praying it rains so we can have a bonfire for his big day!

Just wanted to let everyone know we are still alive....just been a rough few weeks in our casa!
