Happy (Early) Birthday to the sweetest boy! I can't believe you are going to be TWO in a week. It seems like yesterday I was making lesson plans for my 7 or so weeks away from the classroom and nervously wondering what it would be like to be a mom. I still can't believe how big you are. And even though you were a big baby (9.1 lbs)...it still seems like you should be a baby, not a toddler!
Now, two years later, I look back on all those things that were important or necessary and laugh...because nothing beats being your mom. Granted, you keep me on my toes and you sometimes make me want to pull my hair out...there is still no better way I would rather spend my days or nights.
You are such a joy to my life and I really don't know what I did before you came along! I can not wait to watch you continue to grow and change into a wonderful young man.
You are so loving and so sweet. You love hugs and kisses and you are always willing to give anyone a hug and a kiss and good ole hand shake. You have really become outgoing in the past few months and it has been fun to watch you spread your wings to other people.
We have had such a fun year! We celebrated many holidays with family, you got to spend several days with May-May (now Ra) and Paw-Pa when Daddy and I went skiing and also when we took the youth group to Falls Creek, we went to Tulsa and saw Uncle Coleman. We visited several zoos and several little museums. We got to cheer on the Lady Bison's at State and you love to cheer the football boys at their games! You also got to ride on the combine during wheat harvest...and took some good naps on it! We also went on our first family vacation to Wichita. You also got to see Sesame Street Live! and got to see and ride on Thomas the Train.
You love kids and teenagers, some of your favorite people are teenagers and they love you too! You also made a friend this year, Halle. She is three, and you love to play with her. You guys have so much fun together. You love animals, especially cats, and will love on Henry (enry) and Penny, until they get mad and leave. You can tell you love your family and you love to put on a show for them, every time you see them.
You also had your first visit to the E.R. You burnt your foot on the foil and had second degree burns on your foot. It had to stay wrapped for 10 days, but it healed great!
You have gone through several stages this year on things that you like. When you turned one, you started out loving Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Sesame Street. Then you quickly feel in love with Toy Story and stayed on that for about 8 months. Then, some how, Thomas the Train caught your eye in August and it has been none stop Thomas with you. You also love your cars and Daddy's tractors, your ZooTalkers, and balls. You like to play outside and ride in your car or wagon. You finally got down riding your 4-wheeler and go everywhere on it. You also like to slide and swing and jump. You still love books and we spend a lot of time reading Thomas books and animal books. You also like to put puzzels together and play with marbles. You love to play hide and seek (run) and will play for as long as Mom and Dad can last. You also love to wrestle. You love to play Angry Birds on Dad's phone and we have to take it away from you because that is all you would do if you could. You also love the computer (Hahh) and watch Thomas movies and play games on fisher price and learn phonics on Starfall.com.
You are saying so many words and every day you are saying something new. You say about ten or so sentences and that is expanding more and more. Just about any sentence we say you repeat at least one word from that sentence. You also know the majority of the alphabet and you know every letter sound. You also count out of order, but up to 17. Three and thirteen are your favorite numbers. You know your primary colors, along with purple and you know your basic shapes.
You are weighing 25 lbs and are 34 inches tall. You are somewhat small for your age; however, your dad and I are not big people, so that is not surprising. I was small for the majority of my life, so I am not concerned and neither is the doctor. You are wearing 24 month or 2T clothes, depending on the brand. You are also in size 6 or 6.5 size shoe. You are also wearing underwear all day without any accidents. We have not tried to be out and about with underwear on, but we are going to try soon.
You love food and you are a good eater. You love chicken, most fruits (watermelon is your favorite), veggies (corn is your favorite), hamburgers, mac and cheese, eggs, pancakes, waffles, bread, butter, ice cream, popsicles, Oreos (the middle), candy (sour), juice (uice), strawberry milk, McDonalds, and cheese. You eat anything that is on your plate, you are not a picky eater...which is so nice!
You still are not a great sleeper. You have yet slept through the night. But, most nights you wake up two times...one around 3 or so and the other around 6:30. You usually go to sleep around 9:30 and you will sleep by yourself till 3 and then I will put you in our bed until you wake up in the morning. Usually around 7 or so. However, you have been sleeping in till 8 or 9, and that is so nice!
We got rid of your baby bed (which you never slept in) and got a full size bed for you. You have slept great in your bed and you really like the space. Your bedroom is now full of Toy Story stuff, your bedding and walls are covered in Toy Story. You have started playing in your room some, and you know it is your room.
We kinda had some sad moments this past year. Our beloved dog, Bear, sadly went to dog heaven. You still call for her when we are outside and I quickly explain that Bear had to go bye-bye. We also, said good by to wonderful friends and your "Lala and Uncle Eddy and Girlfriend. In other words, The Blosser family moved back to Cashion. We miss them so very much!
We are having a Toy Story birthday party for you on Nov. 3rd. All your friends and family will be there to celebrate with us. You are one loved little boy! We are celebrating your birthday in Stillwater this year, because your birthday falls on OSU's Homecoming weekend. I have some fun stuff planned for that weekend.
Happy Birthday Callen Michael. I love you more and more every single day and I can not wait to see all the things you accomplish this year!
