Another weekend has passed by...always so sad to see the weekend end. This weekend was a busy one for little Callen and myself. We went to my parent's house on Friday night...Callen did excellent on the drive down there. So very proud of him. Saturday I had several things I had to pick up while in OKC...the joys of living in the middle of nowhere! Callen was excellent while shopping and he loved spending time with my mom and sister. After we got home from our shopping adventures Callen got to take a bath with his cousin, Ethan. It was a very sweet moment and Ethan was so gentle and was loving giving Baby C a bath. Sunday morning we said out sad goodbyes to my sister and nephew (they are moving to Illinois tomorrow) and we headed to Stillwater for another family get together. Callen was very cranky on the way there. I had to sit in a parking lot in Harrah for an hour just to calm him down so we could maybe get down the road. Once we did he slept all the way (1 hour). It was great seeing family and everyone getting to meet Callen. We didn't get to stay long due to the 3.5 hour drive we had to endure and the fact that I had to get up at 5 the next morning for inservice. So...we left Stillwater and only got on the west side of town before C started in....I fed him and let him stretch and we were off again. Only for 15 minutes though....that's right two stops while in the same town. He finally calmed down and we hit the road. We made it to Okeene before the screaming began....poor kid was just not having it. Finally at our 5th stop and 7:30 p.m. I told Jason we would have to leave his car in Seiling and he would have to drive the rest of the way home (1.5 hrs). So, that is what we did. Callen did just fine after that. So, a 3.5 hour trip ended up taking a little over 5 hours. I was exhausted and Callen was exhausted from being in his carseat and crying so hard. It was a long 5 hours for the both of us. So glad to be home and back into our little routine of a life.
I hope everyone else had a wonderful weekend that was not full of tears!
