We Made It!

The first week of back to work is officially OVER. Callen and I both surivived (I know some of you thought I might need a dose of antidepressents). I will say it was terrible hard to leave my sweet baby, but it wasn't the earth shattering experience I was expecting. I don't think it upset C too terribly much....his sleeping is getting a little better not like it was before I started working, but it is better! I am ready for him to just wake up again once a night instead of several times a night. It is amazing how me not being at home during the day screwed his sleep cycle up so much. I know it will all get back to "normal" and I keep telling myself that one day I will miss sleepless nights and holding him all throughout the night.

Enough of me and work...onto the wonderful life of Callen! He is changing so much. He is getting so long it is hard to remember what it was like"small." He is about 14.5 lbs now and about 26 inches. He is growing leaps and bounds. He has really started to grab onto things and talk to them. He has an activity mat (that goes everywhere with us) and he has started to grab the sun and monkey and talk to them. Very sweet. He also loves talking to his dog Scout...Scout is one of those dogs that you plug into the computer and upload all these songs and things onto him. And he also sings a song about your child or in my case Callen. He just loves Scout. And I have Scout's little songs stuck in my head all the time. Teaching class and I randomly have the tune of "Me and my pal Callen" ringing through my head. I think though the biggest change he has made lately is being able to hit toys that make noise and turn them on. Thank you mom for this. Jason and I or Santa got him a music/kick thing for Christmas. It grows with your child...first stage is laying and watching and kicking and then it changes when they can stand, etc. Well...we were always having to stay right next to it to keep the thing singing....which was fine, but for something that was suppose to entertain him it was failing since we were right there. My mom came up with the genious idea to put his bouncer underneath the toys that must be kicked/touched to turn on....and so Callen's ability to turn things on began. He is becoming independent I guess. I have pictures to explain.

Callen is also able to hold his own bottle most of the time...should a 11 week old be able to do that? Again I think it is an independent thing. He has also found a TV show that he loves...Little Bear. Now, this is a cute little show about a bear and his friends with really annoying voices. I guess the day of annoying little kid shows and their little songs have began. Which is a good thing! He is just changing like crazy all the time...makes me sad to think that 11 weeks have already flown by...how fast will 18 years?!?

Have a wonderful weekend. I am going to love on my baby 24/7!
