Callen and I survived this past weekend! Thank you for all the prayers, I know that is what got us through (well me anyways).
I met my mom Thursday at noon in Seiling, OK to drop off Callen with her. The entire way there (2 hours) I kept praying that Callen would be okay and that him leaving with May-May would be an easy transition. Callen is the type of kid that needs to be warmed up to people before going to them and even though he and my mom are close he continually watches to make sure I am still there. Remember, Callen and I have not been apart (except for a few hours here and there) since May. In my mind I was trying to decide who should leave first and if I should "hide" while they leave. Once we got to Seiling, Callen jumped in May-May's arms and was good from that point on. I got his movie hooked up in May-May's car and they were both ready to go. Callen didn't even cry when he left (different story for me).
Jason and I left from Perryton, TX Thursday afternoon and arrived at Angel Fire, NM around 9:30 their time. After a good nights sleep (first night in over 15 months of not waking up to feed baby) we hit the slopes. We had a wonderful time with great friends. I am glad we went and I can honestly say it was not a detrimental as thought it was to leave C.
I did call my parents often to make sure everything was okay. Callen did great with them and slept wonderful too. I believe they played a lot of ball on the stairs. And he has a HUGE appetite now that he is not nursing, and I am pretty sure he cleared them out on the food.
Sunday evening Jason and I met my parents back in Seiling to be reunited with our sweet baby boy. I was counting down the hours until he was back in my arms. He was kinda mad to see me at first (I think he thought I left him), but he quickly came to me and would not leave my arms. Made this Mom-ma so very happy! Sunday was a long day for our little family, but we made it!
Today has been full of kisses and playing and eating. I enjoyed my time in Angel Fire, but it sure is nice to be back with Callen!
So glad he had a great time with May-May and Pop-Pops and I am so thankful for such wonderful parents that gladly kept our sweet boy!
