Say Cheese

Tomorrow we are heading to Beaver, OK (20 miles or so) to get Callen's TWO year pictures taken!!  Where has the time gone?!?  He is getting where he will smile at the camera and say cheese...so tomorrow will be interesting as to how it goes!  Hopefully A LOT better than last year!  I have been so mortified since his one year pics (turned out super good, but Callen was horrible) that I have not gotten any pictures done this entire year!

We leave Friday for OKC to ride Thomas the Train on Saturday.  It is going to be kinda chilly and possibly rainy...however, we will gladly enjoy the rain!  I also hope to get some birthday party shopping done.  I just can't get into the "party" this year.  I don't know what is wrong with me!

This past Saturday we made a quick trip to Amarillo to go birthday shopping for Callen. Toys R Us had a "big" sale on Thomas the Train stuff, so I kinda wanted to stock up on birthday and Christmas during this sale.  Once we got there it really was not much of a sale and the selection of Thomas stuff was not great.  Disappointed Momma.  Anyways, we did get several things and Callen will LOVE them all!

However, I had one of "those" kids in Toys R US.  Yup...the screamer.  Callen has been IN LOVE with Thomas the Train for about two months now.  And by in love, I really mean obsessed.  We don't have anything Thomas, other than two books and ten little (maybe 1 inch) trains that came with a book.  He loves those little trains so much...he takes them everywhere we go and even sleeps with Gorden (his favorite train, and says his name all day and night even).  So, I really did not know how Callen would act when he saw all the Thomas stuff at TRU, simply because he has not been around it.  We got there and he saw it ALL (train table, tricycle, trains) and he would not depart from the department.  Once we got him away from it, he screamed all through the store, tears rolling down his eyes, back arched.  Horrible!

Jason made the comment several times, "people are starring at us."  My reply, "just keep walking."  And we did.  He finally calmed down and we continued to shop.  I did not travel the 2.5 hours to leave because Callen was screaming.  I fully understand parents now and why they let their kids throw a fit in stores.  You came for a purpose and nothing is going to stand in that way.

So, you can add me to the list as someone to stare at and talk about when a kid is screaming in the store.       I swore to myself I would never have that type of a kid, the ones that throw fits in stores.  Haha.  I get the point God, I really do!  Along with the other things I swore I would never have "my child do."  As I type this Callen has not a lick of clothes on...another thing I swore!  Ahh, parenthood....
