We were blessed with another snow day in the panhandle. However, I believe this snow might be around longer than last weeks snow. While it messed up basketball playoff schedules, it was a glorious sight this morning. It is extremely cold and windy outside and the snow is somewhat icy...so it really isn't a fun snow to play in...especially for a two year old.
Callen did like measuring the snow on the deck (9 inches) and watching the "no" fall from the sky. When it warms up a little we will head outside and play a little in the beautiful white stuff!
We did make some snow ice cream though. Growing up my mom made my friends, sister and I snow ice cream every single time it snowed. And it has quickly become some I do every time it snows. The first time it snowed when I moved to the panhandle, Jason though I was crazy when I said we should make snow ice cream. While Jason was not impressed with the taste of snow ice cream, I still made/make it almost every time it snows. Since Callen has been born, it has not snowed a lot...and I have always been told not to use the snow from the first snow fall of the year (no idea if this is actually true...I just follow that rule).
So, this morning I decided it was time to introduce Callen to some snow ice cream. He loved making it and he ate a few bites of the creamy snow...but quickly went back to the big bowl of plain old snow.
Excited about the snow
Digging in
Scooping out the goodies
Finger lickin' good!
