Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

Last night was our first big snow of the season. We received about 8 inches or so and it has now blown everywhere, making some big drifts in the yard. Right now it is too cold to get Callen out in the white wonder, so I will patiently wait for a warm up. I remember the excitement of snow growing up and when we received 8 inches of snow the OKC area and especially my little town shut down for a day or two. Out here, not so much. It is called wind and the wind blows the snow off of roads and into ditches or fence rows...making the snow not as much fun simply because you can step out your door and be up to your knees in the white stuff. Oh, well. It is still great to get 8 inches of snow and 1 inch of rain! And the snow does not hinder travel, meaning I can still get to my parents for Christmas...unlike two years ago when the Christmas blizzard hit. We still made it, very stupid and dangerous of us...but we made it.

Maybe the snow will stick around for a white Christmas. I can't believe Christmas is less than a week away. I have so much to do to get ready for Santa to come. I have been busy making candy and goodies. So far, white choc. peanut butter popcorn, glass candy (cinnamon and cola), spicy pretzels, choc. and peppermint pretzels, sugar-cinnamon almonds, and choc. chip/white choc/peanut butter cookies. Still need to make fudge and another recipe I found and I must make the dough for sugar cookies. Today I am going to make up the dough to get it in the fridge so it will be ready to go Wednesday or Thursday. I still have to wrap gifts and get the house cleaned, I would be so embarrassed if Santa saw my house like it is. :)

Enjoy your holiday season with your loved ones. Hope Santa visits your house and leaves you lots of goodies.
