This past week or should I say two weeks have been crazy ones! I am just now letting my feet hit the floor for some rest. To sum up my last two weeks all I need is one word...BUSY.
Last week Callen and I hit the ground running with errands and catch up from being gone the week before. And the running around finally caught up with Mr. Callen...Friday (a week ago today) Callen caught the stomach bug. It wiped him out for a few days and exhausted this Mama. He is feeling better though (took about 4 days to get totally out of his system). However, he has been insanely fussy and has not slept at all this week. I believe he is teething and that is causing our issues OR he is just being a mess. I will go with the first choice!
My mom came out this week to help me take care of Callen while I worked at school. Even though I am no longer teaching I still do the state testing for the school system. I had these dates to test scheduled for a good two months and it was time for this Mama to get back to work for a few days. However, plans changed slightly. My mom came out Sunday afternoon and I was ready for some R & R and some much needed help since Callen had been nasty sick. Well...you know that old saying you make plans and God laughs in your face. Welp, that is what happened this week. My mom had a horrible case of the flu while she was out here. So, my plans with my mom and Callen's playtime with MA was a bust. However, she is feeling much better now (thank the Lord) and I accomplished my testing stuff. So even though this week didn't go as planned it was still a good week with my mom. Callen loved reading books with her and even though she could barely left her head (no lie) she still managed to keep Callen for me for a few hours Tuesday and Wednesday. Super Woman?!? Maybe. Or just a MOM. I think both.
On another note. Christmas is officially rockin' at the Frantz home. Our trees are up, our stockings are hung by the mantel with care, and Callen could care less about any of it. I really thought Callen would pick the tree apart and just be in awe over the lights. I really don't even know if he notices the trees or the decorations. Oh well...after all he is a boy. Maybe next year.
I also have all my shopping finished! Thank you Amazon.com. They had a big time sale on Monday and I bought the majority of Callen's presents from there. Who loves Amazon? This kid. Jason and I aren't exchanging gifts this year. And the other family is also taken care of (no hint from me). I am really excited for Christmas...even though Callen doesn't seem to be excited about it.
As I mentioned before I had/have big ideas for Christmas crafts with C. We started them this week...let's just say EPIC FAIL. I bought a gingerbread house kit for us to make together....welp. Callen was not interested. He enjoyed the candy...so now the house has no candy on it. It looks nice, Clark, real nice. I did however, let Callen paint the glass door with washable kids paint. He loved that and I did try and make it festive with his artwork. Next week I am planning on snowglobes and preparing for Christmas cookies (round one maybe).
Our Christmas cards came this week, so I am excited to get them out to everyone! Even though I am still slowly working on the thank you's from his birthday party. Horribly slow...I am sorry. They will come. Promise.
