16 Months

Our sweet toddling Callen is going to be 16 months next week.  Where has the time gone?  Looking at his beautiful face I simply see a miracle and a being I did not think I could love as much as I do.  My heart melts each and everyday.  I am so blessed to have this little boy call me Momma.  

Callen is growing and changing each and every day.  He is currently standing at 32 inches and is wearing all 18 month clothes and size 5.5 size shoe.  He is getting so big!  His eyes on most days are hazel, but occasionally they are dark brown or dark green.  His hair keeps getting darker and darker and is not like a dirty blonde color. 

He loves food and is a great eater, not too picky.  He loves fruits...especially strawberries, bananas, and oranges.  He is also a veggie lover.  Corn on the cob is still his favorite along with mixed veggies, green beans and squash.  He loves anything with pasta especially mac and cheese.  He also loves naks-naks (snacks).  He loves cheese, crackers, jello, vanilla wafers, pudding, yogurt, ice cream, popsicles, chips (especially licking off the flavoring of Cool Ranch) and french fries or tator tots.  He loves milk and his favorite juice is grape juice or the Juicy Juice Punch.  He is not a meat eater, he does like burgers and fish and a small amount of steak, but other than that no meat.  He also thinks he needs to feed himself with a spoon or fork, and does a good job at it.

He loves his "shows" on T.V. too.  His current favorites are Sesame Street (especially Abby the Fairy), Yo Gabba Gabba, Peppa Pig, Handy Manny, and his favorite, OLIVA.  He loves her so very much.  He is also into movies now, and really enjoys Toy Story 3 and Monstors Inc.

He is a picky toy kid and his choice of toys change weekly.  He is currently into bouncing balls, animals, these Disney bath toys that are not used for bathing, books and empty DVD cases.  He also likes to play "boo" which is him hiding and us opening the door and him saying BOO.  He also loves to wrestle and chase the cats.  He also loves to color, draw, or paint.  He also loves phones and buttons.  He also loves being outside riding in his car or wagon, playing with Bear and just running around.

He is really started to pick up on words and facial expressions.  He likes to squint his eyes, snort, snore, pretend he is "night night,"  meow like a cat and make the noise of a duck.  He still says a lot of B words.  Bath, bubbles, bubble bath, bear, ball, balloon, book, boom, and bye.  He also says Momma, Daddy, May-May, Pops, Lala, cat or at, duck, drink, diaper, juice, shoe, beep beep and Jack for Jack in the Box.  I am sure there are other words that I am forgetting. 

Callen loves music and dances and "sings" a lot.  It is fun to watch and listen.  He "sings" himself to sleep most nights.  He also likes to wrestle, blubber and spin around. 

He is also able to climb on and off of the furniture and out of the bathtub and his baby bed.  Not GOOD.

You can do things on command.   I will say, do you need a diaper?  And he will say dia-p-rrr and lay down.  When we say let's go bye-bye he will go to the door.  Take a bath and he goes to the bathroom.  Shoes and he sits and waits.  Night night and he lays down and snores.  Book and he gets a book and brings it to you.  Snack and he says nack nack and goes to the fridge or cabinet. 

He is really into throwing fits right now and sometimes the only thing to do is to leave him on the ground or ignore it and he quickly gets over it. 

He is still not sleeping through the night...however, we are getting close.  He is also a kid that can fight sleep like none other and is fine on little sleep. 

He is a sweet, loving, happy, and smart boy and we are blessed to call him OURS.
